Our 5-star camping and glamping site on Hadrian’s Wall has a luxurious award-winning, underfloor heated amenity building. This provides excellent facilities for all guests and ensures the ultimate in comfort for your Northumberland camping break. There is a reason why glamping is called “posh camping."

The luxury amenities building on our Northumberland campsite includes:

In our luxury 5-star amenities building there is under-floor heating so it is warm whatever the weather, free hot power showers and toilets in the men’s and ladies’ facilities, alongside 2 baths in the ladies’ facilities, perfect for a soak after a long day walking Hadrian’s Wall. An accessible, private family bathroom/shower room (with bathtub, shower, WC and baby change) is also available.

In a private corner of our amenities building, there is also an 8-person unisex sauna, which can be hired for exclusive use for a small fee of £5 per hour. Please enquire at Reception.

There are multiple health benefits of sitting in a sauna as well as relaxation within a stress-free environment with no mobile technology to distract your thoughts. The heat from our campsite sauna will release endorphins around your body which will help you feel happier in yourself. Increased circulation happens because the heat from the sauna causes your heart to beat faster, and your blood vessels to widen. This helps blood make its way around your body much more freely. This can help with muscle soreness, joint movement and arthritis. Improved circulation, faster metabolism and a greater heartbeat also can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and help with weight loss alongside regular exercise and healthy eating.

Sweating in a sauna helps to flush toxins such as lead, arsenic and cadmium from your body. And if you share the sauna with your friends and family it’s a fabulous way to socialise and unwind.

Our 5-star amenities building at Herding Hill Farm also contains an indoor information and camper's kitchen area which will allow our campers and glampers to prepare food indoors if the Northumberland weather is unkind. There are sinks, a kettle and a microwave as well as tables and chairs and two vending machines for hot drinks and confectionery. We also use the area for our events and craft mornings. On the wall is a large Ordnance Survey map of Hadrian's Wall to allow you to plan walks from our Northumberland campsite as well as activity packs containing lots of suggestions on what to do whilst you are staying with us, including rainy day and child-friendly activities. We also have a Book Exchange and simply request a donation for the Great North Air Ambulance or North of Tyne Mountain Rescue.

An outdoor washing-up area is still available as we know young children enjoy the independence of washing up on a campsite. An extended laundry room with coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer, available to use for a small fee, a small drying area for wet clothes and boots and an indoor Elsan waste disposal point are all in our amenities block located conveniently for both our grass and touring pitches and our glamping pods and Wigwam cabins. NEW for 2023 a dedicated hot water dog wash located at the rear of the amenities building.
