Touring Caravan, Motorhome & camping at Herding Hill Farm
Welcome to Hadrians Wall Premier Caravan, Wigwam & Campsite.
Herding Hill Farm is a top quality family owned and run site and offers the closest caravan & campsite to the most complete section of Hadrians Wall & Haltwhistle. The park is beautifully set in an idyllic rural location and we pride ourselves on offering a warm welcome and relaxing holiday.
We offer twelve level 9m x 9m hardstanding gravel pitches built to Caravan Club Standards. Three of these are serviced super pitches that come equipped with their own individual drinking water and waste water gullies. All our pitches have 16A electric hook-ups.
Towards the front of the site we have a level grass area that can house both small & large family tents and each pitch has 16A electric hook up. We also have a two acre area further down the site for tents without electric. Some of these are slightly sloping but you can watch the sunset over Hadrians Wall.
From Easter 2012 we will have a brand new superb underfloor heated amenities block with free hot showers, 6/8 person sauna (open for guests use 2 hours in the evening and can be booked for private use outside this time), drying room, laundry room, secure undercover cycle store, elsan disposal point, "Aires EC Service Station-Motorhome point", dish washing area, combined accessible/family bathroom that has baby change facilities and baths - all cleaned to the very highest standards. Gas is available from our reception and our well stocked shop provides most of the food provisions you will need together with a reasonable supply of basic touring caravan equipment.
Childrens Play Area
From Eater 2012 we will have a brand new Roman Fort Childrens Play Area, Toddlers Pirate Ship and a Disc Swing located outside our tea room.
Sauna
Our brand new Amenity Building has a 6/8 person unisex sauna. This will be open for general use for 2 hours early evening. Outside these times the Sauna can be booked by the hour for your private use, please see our charges below:-
Adults - £6 per hour
Children over 8 but must be accompanied by an adult at all times £4 per hour
Minimum Charge of £15 per hour
We are going to register with the Green Tourism Board and with your help we hope to acheive the highest grade.
We are proud to be able to offer facilities for visitors who may not be too mobile. Our Tea Room is fully wheelchair accessible and there is not steps. The amenity block is located in the centre of the site so it is equally accessible from all parts of the site and we have a fantastic accessible/family bathroom.
We provide Hadrian's Wall's premier and best located touring facilities in an area where quality touring parks are few and far between. In view of this, please ensure that you book early at all times of the year as our reputation and location, make us an extremely popular touring destination.
For the 2012 season we have a dedicated camping area at the front of the site for organised groups such as Duke of Edinburgh, Scouts & Charity events to camp and we have also installed a 4 person heated Wigwam within this area for leaders to use as both an office and somewhere to sleep.
Stay wth us to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the stunning Northumberland Countryside aswell as being ideally located to visit Hadrians Wall World Heritage Site, the beautiful Lake District, coastal regions of Cumbria and Northumberland and Kielder Forest which hosts Europes biggest man-made reservoir. We haven’t even mentioned the whole host of Castles, Stately Homes and Visitor attractions that are on our doorstep, but be assured that there is plenty to see and do within an hours drive in any direction from our home in Haltwhistle.
We offer our visitors Free 6Mb WIFI internet access whilst having a snack in our Tea Room.
Whilst we allow open fires these will only be allowed in our purpose made fire pits that can be hired and we also sell Logs @ £4.00 a bag. We cannot allow you to bring your own wood etc.
You have no need to call to the supermarket on your way as we can provide you with any type of Northumbrian meat for your BBQ. Please let us know what you would like and we will have it ready for you upon your arrival.
