A unique place for family and friends to come together to celebrate - there’s a photo opportunity for Herding Hill camping cupids with their own Maid Marion at Sycamore Gap, immortalized in the film Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner! 

Our unique camping and glamping wedding reception venue in Northumberland, offers accommodation for 78 adults and many spaces for your little people and four legged friends and is the perfect location for a rustic wigwam wedding.  With a choice of accommodation to suit your guests’ desires and budgets, including a luxury lodge, wooden Wigwam®  glamping pods - some with their own outdoor hot tubs, tent and motorhome pitches and a BBQ hut are amongst the camping staycation choices. 

Why not use our own Wedding Planner and Caterer, with over a decade of experience, to help you prepare your plans and create a unique and memorable special day? How you use the site is up to you.You can choose to celebrate from under a traditional white marquee or go for the unique cone-shaped structure of a wedding tipi tent; all with a bar, a dance floor and heating if that’s what you want. Or if you want something informal, we can help make suggestions to ensure that whatever the weather you have a great day.  Choose a menu from a selection of local seasonal food and breweries encompassing a range of styles and budgets from Mediterranean to the traditional. We’re open all year round so can also cater for tipi winter weddings.

Something we know will be a hit with your guests is a mobile drinks bar. Perhaps a cocktail, prosecco or gin bar? The opportunities are endless! If you’re looking for options, Fizz on the Tyne offer a mobile prosecco bar which includes the hire of their unique, vintage van – complete with props to match your wedding for 3 hours. 

To accompany your unique drink experience, why not make use of our BBQ hut for your guests to enjoy wood-fired pizzas or if you’re opting for a summer wedding, you could have your very own BBQ with a selection of tasty meats sourced from local, Northumberland butchers.

There are plenty of rustic photo opportunities at the campsite itself and nearby. With Hadrian’s Wall located just 1 mile away, this provides the perfect backdrop to capture your special day. Cawfields Quarry is another stunning location which is located on the route along Hadrian’s Wall. A beautiful backdrop of open water and a historic Roman wall.

We even have a petting farm on site which is always a real hit with kids and adults alike! So, why not get photos of your special day with the addition of our friendly alpacas, donkey, goats, shetland pony and Kunekune pig!

We are not short on space at Herding Hill Farm, meaning there are endless options when it comes to entertaining your guests at your glamping wedding. Why not add outdoor games to your day such as giant jenga and giant connect four – there are plenty of options to make your special day extra memorable and fun. 

The Finishing Touches

Finish off your day of celebrations with a spot of stargazing at one of the best stargazing spots in the UK – Herding Hill Farm! Sit round open firepits, toast marshmallows and take in the beautiful scenery and display of stars. Hopefully you know someone who can play the guitar and could treat guests to a sign-along.
