As you know Herding Hill Farm campsite is located just one mile away from Hadrian’s Wall but did Romans eat pizza? Flatbreads with toppings were believed to have been consumed by the Romans, with the modern birthplace of pizza thought to be around 1889 from the Italian region of Campania, home to the city of Naples. According to Wikipedia, a precursor of pizza was probably the focaccia, a flat bread known to the Romans as “panis focacius”, to which toppings were then added.
Why not hire a fire pit from Reception to ensure that you are nice and warm whilst you enjoy your freshly cooked homemade pizza at Herding Hill Farm Camping and Glamping Site?
Please ask our site wardens for details of pizzas as these vary depending on the season and may be restricted as a result of Covid-19.
