The Herding Hill Farm Campsite Code
Some campsite rules to be aware of when staying with us so that all guests can safely enjoy their time at our quiet campsite. If you are unable or unwilling to respect these campsite rules, which are there for the benefit of everyone, please book a stay elsewhere.
Please also view our Terms and Conditions which are updated periodically.
- Our most important campsite rule is that we are a quiet campsite, so no noise after 10.30pm please and no music that can be heard outside your Wigwam cabin, tent or touring pitch, lodge with hot tub or Castle Pod at any time. Please respect this rule, it is stressful for guests and wardens alike if our team are trying to enforce the quiet campsite rule after dark. Noise does travel easily across our peaceful valley. Behaviour that is inappropriate, disruptive, noisy, offensive or likely to cause any harm or upset to other guests will not be tolerated.
- Our maximum campsite speed limit is 5mph, so 1st gear whilst driving will be enough. Please take note of the one-way system round the tent and touring pitches. Safety is paramount as there may be small children playing and whilst all dogs need to be kept on a lead one may try and make a run for it.
- Please respect the check in and check out times for your lodge, pod, cabin or pitch. On busy changeover days our wardens are up against it anyway particularly in relation to the draining nad re-filling of hot tubs. If you need a late check-out time please enquire at Reception and we'll do our best to accommodate you if we can. If you are going to arrive after 6pm please let is know in advance so we can arrange for someone to be around to greet you.
- We do reserve the right to refuse entry and the right to ask people to leave at any time but that's stressful for the caring team on our quiet campsite so please don't put them in a position where they have to. Please be considerate of other guests, particularly if you have had a drink.
- We do have flexible cancellation policies but please note that refunds will never be given for early departure, even if down to adverse weather conditions. We are a small site and we have to pay our team regardless.
- If you are staying in our hot tub accommodation please familiarise yourself with the hot tub rules, they are there for your comfort and safety. NEVER take glass into a hot tub for obvious reasons. As we are a quiet campsite, all hot tubs must be vacated by 10.30pm.
- We value genuine guest feedback and welcome Herding Hill Farm reviews, but if you see something that isn't right we would prefer to know about it during your stay to give us the opportunity to put it right rather than reading about it online later.
- We are a dog friendly site, with a scenic dog walk, enclosed dog exercise field and hot water dog wash but all dogs must be kept on a lead whilst on our quiet campsite. Please don't allow them to bother other guests and never leave them alone in any accommodation, even if it is your own caravan. Something might spook them that you have not expected. It goes without saying that you should clean up after your pets, we provide poo bags and dog bins throughout the site. Please make sure you book the pet friendly accommodation.
- We encourage all guests to visit our animal petting farm but please do not feed them (unless at one of our designated feeding times), enter or climb into their fields or pens or allow your dogs to trouble them. We care deeply about our animals and do not want them to be in distress.
- We offer firepits for hire but please do not bring your own or use a charcoal BBQ as a firepit. This is for H&S reasons.
- Only one car per pitch, Castle Pod or Wigwam cabin (maximum two in our luxury lodge with hot tub). Additional cars are welcome; however, they will incur a charge and must be left in the visitors car park (first come first served) and details given to Reception.
- Day visitors must be booked in at reception and must pay the relevant charges. All day visitors must be off the site by 9.30pm for the comfort of other guests.
- We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to property whilst staying on our campsite. Use of our hot tubs and childrens' playground is at your own risk but please report anything to Reception.
- Due to the location of the campsite and the wind, no gazebos please. We do offer a BBQ hut for hire if you want to gather with friends and family.
- We can't guarantee a specific pitch, Castle Pod or Wigwam cabin but if you call us after you have booked we will do our best to accommodate any special requests or ensure that you are located near friends and family.
Please respect these campsite rules. If you spot any guests not following our quiet campsite rules please let Reception know. If it's out of hours and urgent please call the emergency telephone number but we request thayt guests respect the off duty time of our wardens and only call them out of hours for something important or urgent.
