Local Events in Northumberland
To keep up to date with any events in Northumberland we recommend that you:
- Follow us on Facebook;
- Sign-up to our Newsletter; or
- Download our Herding Hill Farm App
All three of these will keep you up to date with events in Northumberland across the Northumberland National Park, wider Northumberland rural or coastal areas, in our market towns of Haltwhistle, Hexham or Corbridge, further afield in the cities of Carlisle or Newcastle or at our own Herding Hill Farm campsite on Hadrian’s Wall. We will let you know of any historic events at the local Roman forts or Hadrian’s Wall landmarks, this may include Roman re-enactments or cultural talks.
Northumberland has some of the
darkest skies in the UK and is a designated International Dark Sky Park so we
will also keep you updated on local stargazing events from the Kielder Observatory, Battlesteads Observatory and Twice Brewed Observatory.
The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre is just five minutes’ drive from Herding Hill Farm and
features a number of ever-changing events and exhibitions.
At our Northumberland campsite we
celebrate occasions such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Halloween and
Christmas/New Year with events like children’s craft mornings and special guest
surprises. Guests can also choose to decorate their Wigwam cabin, Luxury Lodge or Castle Pod with a party or celebration pack if they are celebrating a special occasion. See our Optional Extras for more details.
