Did you know that the Romans were the first people to build artificial hot tubs? Their version of a hot tub was very large and could easily accommodate 100 people at a time. Thankfully, you don’t need to share your hot tub whilst staying with us!
If you're looking for luxury glamping in Northumberland, you can opt for a Wigwam® holiday or a luxury lodge stay and enjoy the extra luxury of a relaxing outdoor hot tub. Our electrically operated, 4/5-person private hot tubs are currently available with our Luxury Lodge, 7 of our Running Water Wigwam® cabins and 1 of our Big Chief Wigwam® cabins. Currently, only our Wigwam® cabins offer pet-friendly hot tub accommodation.
Whatever the season, our Wigwam® cabins with hot tubs and luxury lodge with hot tub are the perfect choice for a relaxing mini-break at Herding Hill Farm. Perfect to relax in after walking Hadrian’s Wall, great fun for the kids to have a splash about in and, not to be missed, stargazing at night under our magnificent Northumberland dark skies. We are proud to be a Dark Sky Friendly Park and one of the best stargazing spots in the UK!
There are multiple health
benefits of sitting in a hot tub in addition to relaxation within a stress-free
environment with no mobile technology to distract your thoughts. The heat from the
hot tub will release endorphins around your body which will help you feel
happier in yourself. Increased circulation happens as the heat causes your heart to beat faster, and your blood vessels to widen. This can help with
muscle soreness, joint movement and arthritis. Improved circulation, faster
metabolism and a greater heartbeat also can reduce the risk of cardiovascular
disease and help with weight loss, alongside regular exercise and healthy
eating. And if you share your Herding Hill Farm hot tub with friends
or family, it’s a fabulous way to socialise and unwind.
Discover more about Roman hot tubs (and Roman history in general) during your stay at Herding Hill Farm. You’ll be spoilt for choice with many of the key roman sites and attractions within a 15-minute drive from our campsite, including Vindolanda, the Roman Army Museum, Birdoswald, Housesteads and Chesters Roman Fort and Museum. Hadrian's Wall itself and the magnificent Cawfields Quarry is just a short walk from the site.
