Dog Friendly Campsite
Whether you are dog friendly camping or have opted for one of our dog friendly glamping pods we have a range of amenities on our dog friendly campsite.
- Scenic dog walk on site past the animal petting farm and onto the hill; beautiful sunsets with views of the Northumberland countryside
- Secure, enclosed dog exercise field where your four-legged friends can be let off the lead to run around; this can be booked for private access if your dog prefers to play alone
- Dedicated hot water dog wash at the rear of our amenities building
- Dog welcome pack in our dog friendly hot tub lodge
As one of the campsites which allow dogs, we are very pet friendly but do have a few rules for the protection and safety of all guests. No dangerous breeds please. We ask that your dog is always kept on a lead or tethered on the campsite itself (dogs can be let off at your own risk when on the dog walk) and always cleaned up after. To make it easier for you we have included a sturdy dog ring at every pitch and a supply of poo bags at our dog litter bins. It goes without saying that your dog should be healthy (vaccinated), socialised (good with other pooches) and obedient and not cause a nuisance to other guests.
The AD122 Hadrian’s Wall Country bus, which stops at the entrance to our Hadrians wall campsite, is also dog-friendly.
Dog Friendly Walks Nearby
Our dog friendly campsite offers great amenities and there are great local dog walks. For dog owners who love a good walk, finding good walking routes can sometimes be a bit tricky, especially if you want to let your dog run free off the lead. Our scenic dog walk area to the South of our dog friendly campsite allows you to exercise your pet off the lead. There is also an enclosed dog exercise field. From the top of the hill there are wonderful views across to the North Pennines and we have put some benches up there for those that want to watch the Northumberland sunset.
There are many good local dog walks starting right from our dog-friendly campsite, but there may be cattle in places along the routes so you will need to put your dog back on a lead at these points. Our Top 10 dog walks in Northumberland are in our blog.
